If it were not for George H. Lewis writing about a time capsule being set into the corner stone of
the church in his book
Eventful Days at Adamsdale, Mass.
then we would of never known the time capsule even existed in the present day.
The location of the time capsule was revealed on page 37 of this book, in the following
text:
The box placed in the corner stone contained the following articles: constitution and
bylaws of the school, copy of the Providence "Morning Star," copy of the Attleboro
"Chronicle."

This is a photo of the tin box that was placed into the corner stone. As you can see a good
portion of the box had corroded away to nothing, yet the items inside were in near
perfect condition.

The members of the Cushman Union Church celebrated the 125th anniversary of the construction
of the church building on December 14, 2008. It was at this service that the recently
discovered time capsule was opened. A reporter and photographer from the Sun Chronicle were
present to record the event.
An article appeared in the Sun Chronicle the next day, entilted
A revelation at North Attleboro church.
